I have two adult axoltols who wont eat pellets. They will occasinally eat them but not really. I tried with blackworms and they seemed to love them the only problem was that the blackworms didnt last very long and were expensive to keep buying every two weeks. I'm looking for other feed opitions. Thanks

Earthworms are great for adult axolotls. They are readily available at local walmarts and petstores. Depending on the size of the worms, you may need to chop them up a little bit but they last for a long time. You can even culture your own. :)

NIghtcrawlers/earthworms are generally the easiest to find. My full grown adults can easily swallow an entire worm without any issues, however I do suggest cutting your worm in half if you still have juveniles.

Pellets are a great back up for the winter months when stores typically don't have earthworms readily available. I feed my axolotls both pellets and earthworms, and I keep my own colony of earthworms. The bin is very easy to set up and I feed them vegetable scraps. It's a win win.

I sell pellets, and the pellets that I sell are considered "moist sinking" pellets. They are high in protein and can be used as a staple diet. They're a little smelly and my axolotls absolutely love them. I keep them in the freezer for longevity.

Let me know if you have any questions!

I would recommend the night crawlers or red worms that can be easily found locally. My axolotls stopped liking pellets after I started using live food. The red worms are smaller and can be used without cutting them up depending on the size of your axolotl.
