Hey everyone! I just got my first baby axie and I’m so excited about his cute little face! He’s about 2.5 inches long and a real charmer. In my search for an axie I ran across a lady trying to get rid of her 2 adults. I wasn’t going to get them, but she showed me a picture and they look rough. I feel so bad for them that I am currently setting up a tank so that I can rescue them. I know my baby can’t go in their tank yet or he’ll become a snack, but how big does he need to be to go into the large track with the adults?

Generally, the rule is no more than a 2 inch size difference.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
