Hey y’all! I’ve posted a couple times but im very curious and have a lot of anxiety about caring for these babies and my adult axolotls.

our babies were laid on april 30th. they are at the stage of growing legs currently. I have 15 babies that are in a 10 gallon tank (pictures included) with an air stone that is in a cup with holes in it to help filter the air but prevent the babies from getting in it. is this beneficial or harmful at this stage? i don’t see much movement in the water so i don’t think it’s too strong to be in with them but i want to make sure.

also im curious what morphs you think these might be? parents were a GFP regular and regular axolotl (from what we were told).

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
