I'm taking my axie out of the fridge tonight and back into his tank. So the plan is to change his water in the lunchbox and then let him get to room temperature in that, feed him in the lunch box, then into the tank. Then use polystyrene, ice bottles and i'm buying a clip on fan from target today, as required. And see how long I can keep him out of the fridge in my smallish tank. He looks good, but a bit thin, so I'll feed him daily to fatten him up and that way if/when he needs to go back in the fridge he'll be a better size. Does that sound OK?

they have the clip ons at target???? right... here i go for an hour then... ( 30 mins to nearest shops)......

I don't know if they have them or not dancas, so I hope you didn't drive for an hour with five kids only to find out they didn't! I ended up in different spot (Big W) and they didn't, so will search again today. Ended up waiting until this am to get him out and he is currently sitting on the kitchen bench in his lunch box reaching room temperature.

Lisa, the other alternative to the clipon fans is a pedestal fan (the ones that you can raise and lower and adjust angle).

i couldnt find a clip on fan, and the pedastal ones wont reach the top of my tank so i have bought a box fan with louvre and it sits luverly on top of the tank face down, and because the louvre rotates i get a beautiful flow over the top of the tank..

Just note that this will seriously increase evaporation. So you'll have to top off the tank regularly, in addition to you regular water changes.
