I had some questions about bean beetles as feeders. Is it true that they run the risk of causing impaction ? Would they make a better staple than fruit flies?

Their shells are not really hard. I don't see how they would be an impaction risk.

I’ve fed them to my marbles newts for an extended period with no issues.

They’re much easier to cultivate than fruitflies.

Thanks! any tips? I have some fire bellied toads almost at breeding age and was looking for a cheaper alternative to fruit flies for the froglets. Beans are super inexpensive and you can recycle the containers. I personally think the fruit fly media is pretty expensive when it comes to a larger scale breeding operation and their containers become disgusting.
