I had a batch of leucistic x leucistic eggs posted from Belfast to the Midlands, UK.

13 are hatched including two sets of twins and 7 are still in egg.

Some are very dark so not sure about the leucistic cross... Will see how they come out.

I put them in plastic tubs with dividers til they learn to hunt. They are all separated except for the twin hatchlings.
I sat and pipetted a number of microscopic daphnia into each compartment but have yet to see a hatchling feed. They either stay still or dart if touched by a daphnia!
Bit nerve wracking this part. Hope they learn to feed soon. The oldest hatched three days ago.

Good luck with this! I'm doing the same except have two larva in separate tubs and I seem to be failing.
Keep us updated please! I hope you have success with your babies.

Yeah! Definitely :)

This is my first time so thought it might make a helpful thread for other first timers who might be worried about the same things.

Kinda wish I could add more photos.. My limit seems to be one.

Make sure there is plenty of daphnia for them to feed on. You might not see them feeding yet as they are still digesting the egg sack, this can happen for some days after hatching.

Your setup is looking good, makes it very easy to change the space the axolotls have access too when feeding by sliding the dividers. Always helpful if you have a couple larvae not feeding well since you can create a smaller space with more food making feeding a lot easier.

I use a plastic syringe to feed my larvae, and always provide lots of daphnia, the smaller the better.

Thanks. Yes I'm getting on well with the tubs since the hatchlings don't have far to scoot to catch a daphnia. It is fun sucking up the tiniest ones from the culture.. Great eyesight test!

Will feel more confident when I see eating but have not witnessed this yet...

Last pic for now.

6 of the 15 that hatched. Just 5 still in their eggs.
