Hello, I’m going to add black sand to my axolotl tank. I’m not willing to drain the tank as my cycle has finally stabilized. I’m not taking any of the remaining white sand out either. Obviously I will remove my axolotl and put her in a bin, along with taking 1/2 of the water out just due to the risk of water displacement with the new sand. while I add the sand, but what would be the best way to add the sand? I’m going to use fine blasting black sand grit

What I would do is take a plastic cup filled with already rinsed sand and slowly carry it into the aquarium so it doesn’t fog the tank as much. Hope this made sense:).

Yes thank you!! I’ll post a picture when I’m done. I got a 12in fine mesh net for her so I’ll be able to scoop her in and out easily😂😂

That sounds great, Can’t wait to see how it looks! I’m currently debating adding sand to my tank so maybe this will help!

Hopefully! I’m using (if you are from the states) black blasting sand from tractor supply. I got fine grit and got a 50 pound bag of it for 11 bucks. Super good deal compared to Amazon😂

Wow that is an amazing deal! Thanks:)
