Blackworms staying in one place

My red-spotted newts readily eat blackworms. The only issue is that within a couple hours they all get under a rock for the newts, even though it's on the other side of the tank. Are there any techniques used to keep them in one area?

You can put them on a small sided dish that is sat in the bottom of the tank or you can put the worms in a jar and slowly sink it on its side. These methods won't prevent the blackworms from escaping into the tank but it sure will slow them down.

If you want to feed them blackworms on a regular basis, then I would design the tank to deal with this problem. For tanks where I'll be using blackworms, I keep little or no rocks. If there is an island, I support it with objects that make little contact with the bottom of the tank. Fine sand is OK but only in a very, very thin layer.

I am using them on a regular basis. It's the only thing they will eat! What could I use as a little hiding spot, because the only thing I can think of for that would be what I have (giant rock cave).
