I've been in Borneo for the past few weeks and had a wonderful time hunting through the rainforest for amphibians and inverts. Herping in the rainforest is a lot harder than I ever imagined. The ground is covered in 2ft of leaf litter, every plant seems to have 2 inch thorns and much of the wildlife is up in the canopy. I won't even mention some of the poisonous and venomous critter you come across.... here's a few pics.
Havn't properly ID'd this chap. I'm guessing Polypedates macrotis but I might be wrong.
Fejervarya limnocharis
Fejervarya limnocharis again
Metaphrynella sundana - this microhylid is only 1cm long, hence the poor photo.
Unidentified Microhylid spawn and lavae in a bamboo shoot. If you look closely you can see a little chap about to morph (under the larger red brown leaf)
And now for some non-anuran pics
A water monitor - this one was 2 metres long. They are very common in some costal areas of Malaysia.
Chelonia mydas hatchling (green sea turtle) who thinks he can fly. (Flash turned off to limit confusion to this little chap)
Mabuya rudis
And finally some crocs
