So I have 2 adult axolotls who have bred for me several times in the past. They do well together and I’ve never had problems before. It’s been almost 8 months since they last bred so I felt comfortable enough to put them together again. I removed the barrier but this time my female is only interested in eating the tail of my male. I got her to let go and he is ok but despite showing interest in breeding when separated she just repeated tries the same thing. Temperature is 63 and I just did a water change with colder water to promote breeding the day before. They’ve never acted this way before. Has anyone else had this problem?
