If no one else feels the same way as I do about this please ignore my irritated ramblings. But I really hate when people bring up posts that are more than a few months old that have no relevance. The other day someone dug up a post that was 2 years old about eggs and seriously asked if the poster (from 2 years ago) could send them eggs from the U.S. to Iran or something (sorry to sound insensitive but I don't remember the exact place). And today someone dug up another post that was 2 years old asking about the health of an axolotl with unusual coloring that the o.p. had already said unfortunately died earlier in the same post.

Why aren't there rules about bringing up super old posts with absolutely no relevance? Again sorry about the rant but it's really annoying to me and maybe I'm totally out of line but I don't think so.

Generally if someone comments on a really old thread, the comment is deleted. Needless to say, some do slip through.

Sometimes though, if the thread is about a general subject or a fun pictures thread, it's better to bump it back than to start a new thread. There's so much information in the archives and because the images are hosted by this website the pictures haven't disappear over the years.
Hooray for thread archaeology, I say! :)

We don't need to have 'rules' for everything when common sense should suffice. It's better to just delete the occasional inappropriate comment than have new 'rules.'
