The stones are a nice colour, but they look a bit slippery (as long as axie's walking fine on them then it's all right). The tunnel looks great. The walrus's eye's are popping out (see bottom-right in first pic for those who didn't notice) from seeing such a brilliant axie. I'll maybe post a pic of my tank in another thread...
Thanks guys! Even though they might look a bit slippery I don't think that they are - either that or Brutus is just so sure-footed that he makes walking on them look effortless! lol
For cleaning the river stones will be taken out to allow me to ensure that there isn't any muck underneath... Brutus is hand fed so usually there is only a small amount of waste... from the obvious place
- Would love some suggestions of other plants that I could add to the tank that would do well in low light... Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Brutus is beautiful! I'm sure he'll enjoy them. When I was back home last, i picked up some similar rocks, and arranged them in a 'tunnel'. Enzo and Thumpa enjoy them alot!!
Thanks for your nice comments everyone. He is a light coloured wild type, I will have to get some better pictures of him to post. And Elissa you are so right, I definitely have to look twice now to find him - he completely blends in. It is funny I looked around for rocks for a fair while and ended up getting the ones in the tank from a pond shop... I have since discovered that the 'reject shop' sells them as well, in black... am thinking of buying some of those and mixing them in with the ones that I have, just to make Brutus stand out a little. Will have a couple of new axies soon, so will definitely have to post some more photos then
