Hi, I am building a small website to document my new Axolotls lives!

I would like to put up basic pages on care, a links page to other Axolot sites, & a photo gallery as well.

Because mine are just babies, and I don't even have them home yet, I was hoping some of you may be willing to let me use your pictures. I will credit each picture appropriately.

If you are willing, just post your picture below as well as your Axies sex, age, name, and color!

Thank you.

This is Lucylotl, or Lucy for short. She is Female if you couldn't tell from the name. She is around 3 years old and is gravid at the moment. Sorry for the bad picture quality.

I LOVE that first picture vainglory! That's great!

I think it awesome that you are making a website! Especially since it will have a care sheet.

Could you tell us what it will be called? I want to visit it :D -Seth

This is Carlos, she's actually a girl I believe as there are no man lumps. She's just over a year old and is a wildtype.

This is Jack, my Golden Albino and Hector, my Wildtype :) They are both 2-3 months (guessing) and are too little to tell if they are boys or girls yet.

Wow Hector looks really cool! Does he have those row of gold spots in most angles?

I think most wildtypes/goldens do, my big one has the double row of iridophores there too. My gold has them there as well. It's hard to see them in other lotls as there might be too many markings to distinguish between them. Like my youngest wildtype, he's quite light along his bodies so I can only just make out these lateral lines. It's pretty cute I think :D

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
