Can I put week old axolotls in the fridge?

My baby axolotls hatched a week ago and I ran out of food sooner then I thought I would. My food is coming tomorrow. They already went one day without food and I found 5 out of my 70 dead today. Until now I haven't had any die on me. I dont think they will live another day without food. I heard fridging axolotls slows their metabolism. Would this help them or would it hurt them more?

I can't answer about the fridging, but an emergency food that you can give them is boiled egg yolk!
