Can I switch tanks

Hi everyone I would like to change my axolotl tank over to a freshwater community tank. Can I still use the same canister filter and media for a freshwater community tank or should I switch it out? Don't know if the bacteria from axolotls is different then my fish.
PS no longer any axolotls in tank

You should be fine to reuse the filter, and it'll keep all the good bacteria so your cycle should set up quickly. If the media is dirty you can give it a clean/replace but you will loose some of that bacteria. Just make sure the tank is cycled before putting in your new fishies
