Can I turn my chiller off for 12 hours? And if possible, How should I do it?

I have a boyu c-150 chiller for my axolotl tank and it works well, however it's a bit noisy and it's on my bedroom. So I wanted let it on while I'm studying (basically for 12 hours) and turn it off when I get home to rest (12 hours again). And keeping the temperature wouldn't be a problem for me during this time since I have an air conditioner that will be on all night. In the manual of the chiller, it's written that if the chiller won't be on for a long period of time, we should drain the water out of it. But what does it mean "long"? How long? My idea was to turn it off every night. Is it possible? If so, how should I do it? Would I have to drain the water every night? Also, I was wondering if I can just simply turn off the chiller but let the bomb on and the water flowing in and out of it. If that was possible I wouldn't have to drain the water. Please help I got no idea how I'm supposed to do this.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
