Can i use almond leaves without seeping first?

I just received my Indian almond leaves in the mail and honestly they're way bigger than I expected. I was expecting bay leaf sized not magnolia leaf sized, but regardless can I put them straight in the water or do I need to boil them first? Sorry if this has been asked before I'm just trying to take care of my tanks.

might be an idea to wash them first but you can put them straight in but they will float until they have absorbed enough water to sink, also because there isn't anything eating them in a axie tank it is best to replace them after a month as they become less beneficial and add to the bio load.

There has been a number of times when I have ordered IAL that were to big! What I would do is just break off smaller pieces. For your second question I actually never thought of boiling/washing the leaves! From your post it seems like your adding the leaves to the tank, since I have only ever added the leaves to a temporary tub, I would imagine it’s much more important to have the leaves be a sanitary as possible when adding them to a permanent set up. Just in case of snails or other aquarium pests I would try boiling or washing them in some way. I hope this is helpful.
