i know thhat nitrite is a bad sign and i saw that it looked like it might be a little over zero. so im about to do some clean up and switch to a non substrate environment so there will be less bacteria lingering around. i only had a 3-4inch long area of gravel for them to hunt for worms but i also had the reptile carpet for them. my guess is that this could be trapping bacteria so im going to remove it. is there anything else i should be worried about while testing my water quality? or anything on my picture i posted? haha
Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
