Hi everybody!
I'm new here.
My name is Friso, and I want to keep amphibians as pets.
Before I even think of buying stuff, I must first know which species of amphibian I want to keep.
I have experience in keeping reptiles, but i have no experience in keeping amphibians.
The reason i'm here is that I want to ask you all something:
Which species of amphibian is a good starter species? I'd prefer a salamander of the Tylototriton genus, or Bombina orientalis.
What do you advise me?

Greetings,
Friso.

Hey Friso
I personally believe that Bombina orientalis is a good starter! I personally don't know the tylototriton genus however I do think that cynops orientalis are very good starter newts, also pleurodeles waltl I believe is a good starter newt.

Both of these are good starters. However, you will have a much easier time finding Bombina orientalis available for sale. If you want Tylototriton, you might have to search for a while.

Allright thank you!
I work in a petshop, and we also sell Bombina orientalis now, so finding Bombina orientalis will not be a very big problem

I think B. orientalis is a really good option for me.

Thanks for your help!
