Can't tell if fungus is getting better or worse?!

It's been about a week now and Chippy's fungus definitely isn't as bad as before, but now I can't tell if this is still fungus, or his damaged gill. I'm worried that if this is just damaged skin, then continuing salt baths will just agitate the gill even more. What do you guys think?

Fungus does come off a bit if you use a cotton swab on the gill. Be careful this pisses the axie off. But when you put the cotton swab on the gill, roll it towards the axolotl, don't just brush the gill. Then assess the situation. Also you should do the cotton swab technique basically before changing the water. Sorry what are you currently doing for the axolotl? Ie fridge, indian almond leaves, antibiotics?

I would recommend the indian almond leaves or antibiotics if you have not done so yet.

Right now I've just been fridging and giving salt baths once every 12 hours. I was told to hold off on any tea treatment until the fungus is completely gone. Also, where would I buy indian almond leaves and what kind of antibiotic would you recommend?
