In Washington area we found some juvenile plethodonts in the garden of Jean Raffaelli and in the nearby woods. I was somewhat puzzled to see this type of coloration. i had seen some blackblue (lead back) animals before, but some of these were quite black with lots of lateral white patterns ... Is this usual for cinereus juveniles . See the shots at :
