I siphon the water about 2-3 times a day, sometimes more.
My three axolotls produce so much waste.
I have a tank which is 80x40cm.
Water level is roughly 60cm.
How do i reduce the waste without making my axolotls eat less?
How can i keep it clean?

Hi Mitchell

What exactly is the problem ?
Do you have an ammonia problem ? Or are you sick of constantly having to replace the water ? If this is the case well just purchase a turkey baster, they are cheap and you can just suck up the poop and any uneaten food and not much water.

Get a bigger tank or only keep 2 axolotls instead of 3.
How much are you feeding them and what are you feeding them?

What kind of filter do you have?

i agree -- tank seems a bit small for 3. Highly recommend turkey baster. What have you got on the bottom of the tank?

I do know it's a bit small.
I am getting a new tank soon.
And i am also getting a new male soon.
I'm going to get the same size tank and have two in each of the tanks.
And I'm going to breed them.
I have a submersible filter.
I am also getting a turkey baster but i just can't find one.
Thanks for your help.
I hope that all makes sense.

I have nothing on the bottom of the tank, only a couple of river stones for decoration.
I'm sick of cleaning it out.
I'm in their all day cleaning the tank out and when I'm done they go and make it messy again.
I mostly feed them big worms from the garden.
I also feed them axolotl pellets and sometimes a goldfish from my pond that i breed.
They eat non-stop. But they aren't fat because i feed them and keep them at the correct weight.
Their bellies are the same size as their heads.
I'm thinking of getting sand at the bottom of the tank, should I?
