Hi! So a couple days ago, I had done a bit larger of a water change than usual since I found a spike in ammonia. However, this morning, I noticed the water being a bit cloudy, different than the crystal clear it was the day before. Could it be the biological filter getting settled? I have a sponge filter. Or something worse?
Here are water details
pH- 7.4
Ammonia- 0.50 (still trying to get this under control, but it’s way better)
Nitrate- 0 ppm
Nitrite- 0ppm

Here’s a picture of the tank

Are your nitrates usually 0ppm? If they are this indicates the tank isn't cycled. You want 0 ammonia and nitrites, and low nitrates.
Probably a bacterial bloom. Do regular water changes and see if that fixes the problem.

Okay, thanks! My axolotl had lost her gill feathering due to the explosion of ammonia, so should I worry about the bacterial bloom? Is there anything I can do?

I don't think it is anything to worry about from what I have read. Once you get the ammonia under control it will help, and your axie should grow it's gills back. If you haven't you may want to tub the axolotl so it doesn't get further affected by the ammonia.
