Constipated Baby

I have a 4 inch long axolotl named Max. I feed him soft sinking salmon pellets and red wrigglers. He usually poops every other day but he didnt poop for five days. I decided to fridge him and he has been in the fridge for four days and still no poop. He has been floating butt up and he doesnt seem stressed. I dont know what to do!!! I cant keep him in the fridge much longer because Im sure he is starting to get hungry and you arent supposed to feed him while their in the fridge. But if I take him out and he doesnt poop soon I will have to put him back in the fridge. What do I dooo?????

Axolotls can start pooping less frequently as they get older. It's also possible that your axie isn't experiencing constipation, but rather just gas. Is he still floating? And if so does he seem to be struggling to swim downward? Even if this is the case, it's possible that your axie swallowed air while floating and now can't get down, or he could just like floating. Either way, try not to worry too much about it! I know having sick axolotls is stressful and heartbreaking, but the best thing for you to do now is just wait it out. Put him back in the tank and feed him as normal. I hope your little buddy will be okay!
