Hey guys! So I have 2 wilds, both get for copper. They need this winter and gave me a lovely clutch. Mostly wilds with beautiful iridophores, but a good handful of coopers also. I've never bred coppers before, and I'm quite surprised at some huge color differences! The wilds all look fairly similar, but the coppers look quite different. A few even look leucistic, and I did have a clutch of them, but they were about a month apart so unless I had an unusually mixup involving bowls and nets, I can't see how they could be leucistic. Anyhow, here's a couple pics. Some are a mustard yellow almost whole others are more white bodied with spotting and iridiphores on the gills.

This phone won't allow more than one pic on a post for some reason :)

Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing them.
Coppers were my first purchase and the reason I got in to keeping axolotls. I love the colours. Obviously the minute I saw them I got a wild type as well, then 2 leucistics with freckles and another wild type - sheesh, these fellas are addictive.
My coppers were very light when I first got them (around 3 inches long), they have got slightly darker and their markings have developed as they have grown over the past few months.

They are gorgeous :)

Thank you both!

That's what I was wondering Donna, of they'll darken significantly anytime soon. Weird how some have such a bright yellow color, but others don't. Silly little things. They're my favorites :)

This is one of my coppers in the first week or so of getting them around 3 months ago. They were 4 inches when I got them, and are now closer to 7 inches.

So pretty! I love the maroon-ish gills they seem to have <3
