This week I set up a bunch of breeder tanks. I set up a 55 gallon tank for Neurergus strauchii, a 55 gallon tank for Neurergus kaiseri, a 30 gallon tank for Hynobius dunni, a 20 gallon tank for Hynobius quelpartensis, moved a 40 gallon tank for Tylototriton verrocusus, and am setting up several small tanks and larvae tubs. I'm running sponge filters and airstones for these tanks on a Coralife Super Luft Pump.
I went with the smaller sl-38 model. It's a neat little item. The super luft pump is a magnetic piston pump in an aluminum housing. It comes with an option of one air outlet, 4 plastic air outlets, or 4 stainless steel air outlets. I'm running the 4 stainless steel outlets. In the long run it should be a lot cheaper than running electric to a bunch of magnet driven filters. It makes a little noise but nothing like those old double piston pumps I used back in the day. Right now I'm pleased as punch with the set ups. I recommend it for hobbyists with lots of tanks. For only a couple tanks it would be overkill.
I set this system up this week. The pump seems to be built solid. I expect to get lots of use out of it. If it fails in a couple years I will curse it.

I bought my second one last night. I set up more tanks and am phasing in some azoo sponge filters. They should be good for biological filtration and plant friendly.
