Im doing a fishless cycle for a tank (its not actually for axolotls...) its been running a few days, walstad esque setup, medium planting, gravel from another tank that was left to dry out;second hand filter where i rinsed half the medium in tap water as the canister was gunky. Oh also added two pinch full of fish flakes.
These are today's readings-ignore the nitrate,i realised that the drop were out of date and so unreliable. Ammonia and nitrite are both well in date.
My question is,does this mean my cycle is midway?could any bacteria have survived on the filter/gravel?
Thanks.x
