Hello,
I have a female Blue Tail Fire Belly and she is full of eggs and has only layed a dozen or so over the past 5 days. She's had eggs in the past and is usually more prolific in her egg laying and is currently VERY fat, I think she might not be laying because of a lack of plants to put them on. (I have Java Fern and she has layed a few on there and a few wrapped in Java Moss) I put some strips of plastic in the tank anchored to a rock so that she had that as an option to lay eggs on and has since only placed one on there and one more on a plant. She seems to be looking for a place to lay but isn't finding a suitable spot.
My concern is that she is very big and it seems to really hinder her movement and I don't know if it is dangerous for her to not lay those eggs? Is there anything more I can do to encourage her to lay her remaining eggs? What plants/ substrates work best for you?
Thanks.
