I began noticing eggs in my 30 gallon C.o. tank around Aug 29. My youngest female plumped up and i observed her laying eggs several times. I have been trying to keep notes of this years egg progress and all the eggs (app 20) have fuzzed over a few days after being laid. Egg laying has slowed down at this point. I have 2 males, 2 females. Water temperature is around 70F.
I am thinking the females haven't been fertilized because I'm not seeing the chasing/fan tailing as in years past. I'm not worried as I assume viable eggs are right around the corner, but does anyone have any thoughts or ideas???

I noticed you said your youngest female was doing the laying, is this the first year she has laid? First time egg layers usually have a very poor success rate.

Thanks Justin. This is not her first year laying eggs. That newt is actually the first newt I successfully raised from an egg. I have had her for 4 years. Last year these females laid eggs from September into March.

I noticed a number of new eggs Oct 3. I went on a camping trip for a few days and noticed a lot of new eggs upon returning(got cold in apt/left their lights off). Just starting to find tiny larvae....
