Hi there -
I got two fire belly newts (C.orientalis)from a pet in my city and the newts have anorexia and some lesions in the skin what I think are like ulcerated and some necrotic tissue. Some of them have blood. I`m just began to search for info, so any help will be very gratefull.
Thanks in advance for the help.-

get some fungicide for the lesions and keep them in fresh clean water without chlorine as soon as possible!!! and I shouldn't worry about the anorexia unless they are really emaciated.

Treating for nonexistant fungus is not a good idea. I'd keep them in a sterile setup (plain, unbleached paper towels) and put antibiotic ointment (neosporin WITHOUT pain reliever in it!!) on their wounds with a cotton swab.

Hi...thanks for the help....what do you think about enrofloxacine or salt bath.
They`re on fresh water at the time, 18ºC and some land. One of them have a swelled arm and it´s very inactive.
Well thanks again and wish me luck...bye!

If the injury looks like cotton maybe you are dealing with fungus, and I read that with baths of potasium permanganate for five minutes every day you can control the problem.

If you like the idea tell me and I`ll answer you later.........Good Luck!
