Illness/Sickness: Damaged eyes

Hey my 2 male axolotls both have milky coloured eyes one each they are swollen out and one of them had completely lost his balance I found him on his side last week and have had him in the fridge all week but he is still not doing so well. I keep 2 females in the tank with them and there isn't anything wrong with the girls as far as I can tell they are fine I keep them all together and I'm worried they may get the same thing is there some sort or disease related to there eyes or is it just random they have both injured them selfs about the same time? I don't know what to do? has this problem with the eyes happened to any one else and do you know what I should do? Should I take them to the vet?

Also could you tell us a bit more, like the readings for ammonia, nitrate and nitrite. Also what temperature are they kept at. Do you keep any thing else in the tank with them and finally, what do you feed them?

Hi, I recently had this problem with my beta fish and it was a bacterial infection that caused massive swelling of one eye...to 3 times it's size...i treated mine with mulitcure but that absolutely CANNOT be used on Axies as its highly toxic to amphibians....if its bacterial, I would imagine it's best to treat all of them because the bacteria would be in the filtration, water etc. Apart from needing water parameter is there anything else you can tell us? Are the eye showing signs redness? not just the eye itself but surrounding tissue? is there any white patches near their eyes? any swelling any redness extending back towards the gills?

I can't tell you what the readings were I cleaned the tank out completely I feed them live feeder fish and prawn pellets that's all they like there is no other visible swelling around the eye. My black male is not doing well he is still alive but the one eye is milky and kinda popping out a bit and he live life less not moving no energy and no balance he also done a very green poo (i will attach photos) I'm really worried but my olive male has the same problem with his eye and he is full of energy. I had my black male in the fridge for a week and it didn't help at all.

I'm sorry, I haven't seen this before. I think, to be honest, your axxie is going to need antibiotics from a vet. I would probably separate them and place them in large containers with cool, dechlorinated water and do 100% water changes daily, but in the mean time, I really think a vet needs to look at them.
