Hi everyone,
I have had my axolotl for a week and a half. The water is cool and clean. She eats, she poops, she’s active. Her gills have grown a lot in the short time I’ve had her!
The only thing is that her tail is showing some damage. I do have some fake plants in the tank. It is a temporary tank while my large tank with live plants finishes cycling. I wondered if she is scratching her tail as she swims past the fake plants? I’m hoping it is just a bit of phycial damage and not some kind of infection? I will attach some pictures and would appreciate any opinions on what might be going on.
The first pic is her tail. The second is the tank. The third is my little one.
