Just an update on a topic that came up in another thread (didn't want that one to stray too far off its topic)

I tried out feeding decapsulated brine Shrimp Cysts to my Cynops e. popeii neonates. This experiment can best be described as FAIL!:D Thankfully, I have plenty of daphnia on hand to remedy the stituation.

So in short; Axolotl neonates and decapped cycts- outstanding results! (as always for me;))
Cynops and decapped Cysts- a messy fungus forming waste of time and energy. Good news is I have a ton of decapped cysts made up for when I can breed axies again!

Update!

Today I had a small victory.

My Cynops esicauda popeii larvae stated eating decapsulted brine shrimp cysts today.

I tried feeding them this soon a bout a week after hatching and they showed no interest. So I fed them moina and Daphnia Pulex for about the last two months. they are now just short of an inch long and were eating me out of house and home, so I hatched out a bunch of napuli from my decaps stock. The larvae are eating both the napuli and the unhatched decapped cysts.

Here is some video of the end of today's feeding frenzy. Not all of them are eating decaps, the smaller ones still prefer moving foods.
