The herp friendly humourist Mr Dave Barry is in Beijing covering the games.
On his blog (http://blogs.herald.com/dave_barrys_blog/ August 08, 2008 BEIJING CUISINE UPDATE), he mentions a local food market with "scary food" .... featuring (I think) some of our favourite charges (http://blogs.herald.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/08/08/lizards.jpg) - notwithstanding that the gentleman has identified them as 'lizards'.
