So my axolotl that I thought was male is in the process of laying a bunch of eggs all about the tank (shes been at this for about 13 hours now).

I have been debating on getting another axolotl for awhile now since I only have two in a 40 gallon breeder and when I first got them as babies a year ago I had 3 but one didnt seem to grow very well and passed. My problem is I live in florida and my house gets very hot especially with the summer weather already starting to hit and I can not afford another chiller on a different tank to raise one to their size. I was thinking about getting a tank divider to keep them from hurting a baby until its full grown since I have more than enough room in my tank. I have looked around and a lot of dividers I see look a little puny so I was wondering if anyone purchased one that works well or maybe if someone had some glass cut and knows of a good way to secure it.

I totally recommend the "Lee's" tank dividers. They may not look that great, but they get the job done and are cheap. I bought mine from Ken's Fish.com. You have to just make sure they fit properly and snug. They are pretty easy to adjust.

Those are the ones I was looking at. I just didnt know if an axolotl could knock it down.
