So i'm a huge DIY'er.

I'd like to start a list of products we use in our tanks/enclosures that are water safe and don't cause any issues with our precious slimy family members.

So besides the general PVC pipes and aquarium silicone lets start a list of items you use and their possible applications :D

nice idea.

I use mostly stuff I collect myself (rocks, gravel, sand). I also use a few pieces of bogwood. I use potting soil under the gravel. Also,a bit of terracotta, such as flower pots and the infamous Prez Obama chia pet. I prefer a natural look and keep artificial stuff to a minimum. Of course, the Potus just looked too good with a head full of alpine newts, so he's an exception. And soon I plan on making an artificial rock background as per Evut's thread, with styrofoam, silicone and sand.
so here's my list:

- organic potting soil
- rocks
- gravel or sand
- terracotta
- cork bark
- bog wood
- styrofoam
- aquarium silicone
- and of course, lots of plants
