Id really like to buy eggs and raise them maybe 20-30. I don't own axolotls and if i would do this id definitely do my research but i'm just wondering do axolotls lay at a certain time of year and do people usually sell excess eggs? I've always wanted to raise babies of any species and i think it would be a very a rewarding experience.

In captivity axolotls are capable of breeding year round, people sell eggs pretty often. Keep an eye out in the for sales section in the forum or you can post a wanted add.

If you don't have any experience with axies please don't start with eggs - get yourself a sturdy 5"+juvenile and do a load of research first.
Raising eggs is really hard, both physically and emotionally.

I would do more than 30 the first time around, it is a bit tricky. Do a lot of reaserch first.

Mine tend to lay eggs when the days get shorter... so fall-early spring is when I get eggs.

Raising axolotls to the juvenile stage is quite challenging to put it mildly. They must have live food or will starve to death. I have not been able to get live daphnia and have instead had to raise baby brine shrimp to feed the babies. This stage can last quite awhile depending on how often you feed. IME, they need live food until the hinds legs start to grow in at which point they will eat other foods. You also have to worry about keeping sizes separate. The larger ones will snap at smaller ones and can kill them.
