So, I noticed a lighter patch of skin just behind my axolotl's head and partially on her dorsal fin, and I am wondering if this is any indication of illness or just some pigment change as part of aging.
Any opinions?
If this is illness, any suggestions to rectify it?
I change half of her water out every week, and I have just started using prime chlorine and chloramine remover.

Melanoid axolotls, I believe, form white pigmented spots as they age. My melanoid axolotl has the same spots, and she is about 5 years old. If you are really concerned, Methylene blue and almond leaves will deal with anything fungal going on. I have used pimafix in the past to great success, but it is not normally recommended for axolotls. From what I can tell, it does not look like your axolotl is sick.
