Duetto 50 Submersible Power Filter

I would highly recommend this filter to anyone using a tank between 10 and 20 gallons for newts. This filter is great because the output allows for a wide dispersion of the water, and can still be directed by the rotating head allowing for close to no current in the water if aimed correctly, but still pumps out 55 gph. Not bad at all. Everyone here seems to know that current+newts=stressed out newts, but also most people just don't have the time to be changing their water every other day. I would highly recommend this filter to anyone, and for those with larger tanks they do make the Duetto 100 which is the same filter just larger.

Another good thing about the Duetto is that it only draws 5 Watts of power. The lower the wattage, the less heat it puts into the tank. I don't know of any other submersible with lower wattage. Because of "heat" issues, I still like bubble-driven filters too. But if you need to drive a small waterfall, or just prefer a power filter, this is a good one.
