My three Eurycea have been doing quite well since I got them as inch-long larvae about a month ago. One is substantially bigger than the other two, and though it's hard to see in the picture, the markings are different. Apologies for the blurry picture - I'll get a better one once I get my new comp squared away.

Hey Dot,
I went creeking a couple days ago and found about 2 dozen very large adult cirrigera in one small area--one of my best finds. Oddly enough, I didn't find any larvae, which is unusual for this part of the year. What are you feeding them? What's their cage look like? (Maybe you could take a picture of that too) If I can get my digital camera to work and keep the cirrigera still, maybe I'll go back and take a couple photos of the adults I found.

Hi Dan --

I've been individually hand-feeding my three thawed bloodworms and they seem to like them. If you really want a picture, I could take one, but there's not much to look at -- I'm keeping them in a bare 2.5 gallon tank with frequent water changes.

Hi Dot,
I thought you might have a pretty simple cage since cirrigera aren't too picky, I just thought if it happened to be complex then you could just take a picture and skip the explanation. Bloodworms sounds like good food for them. I've gotten them to eat thawed daphnia before too. I'm surprised more people don't keep plethodontids. I think they make great captives, and are very interesting to watch.

I'm waiting for them to grow a little bigger or morph before I start adding anything to their tank. They're pretty small still, and I don't want to put anything in there that could unintentionally harm them while I'm trying to rearrange things.

They're definitely growing on me. I was originally supposed to get sirens, but was scammed in the deal and received the Eurycea instead. They're voracious eaters and seem to be doing ok for themselves.
