Question: Eastern newt (Notophthalmus viridescens) odd behaivor

Once in a while I see one of my newts strike this odd pose, almost like it is paralyzed. After a while they snap out of it with no apparent after effects. Anyone know what this is?

Seems to be common in Notophthalmus.

Thanks Jen, That must have been it, they have been shedding lately, which is rare for them.
