I am looking to kill two birds with one stone here and create both a composting bin and sustainable worm culture for my Ambystoma Tigrinum. My question is which of these two worm species would a) reproduce better and b) produce less foul excretions and I suppose c) be the better all around choice? Answer as well as reasons would be excellent! Thanks so much

E.foetida reproduces faster but has a strong secretion. D.hortensis has a slower reproduction rate, although it´s still quite fast, and the secretions are less of a problem.
I would recommend D.hortensis. They reproduce fast enough, get quite larger (which is good for a big species such as A.tigrinum) and do very well in indoor cultures.
