Enquiry regarding worms.

hi guys,

i finally got hold of some earthworms. but i stil couldnt tell apart the different species of earthworms. so just wanna ask, are these the ones that secrete yucky stuffs when cut?

I'm not sure. They do not seem to be the same as either the ones in my garden which stink, or the ones which don't.

I suggest a cut and sniff approach. If you have yellowish goo on your hands and spend ages scrubbing with perfumed soap you have a species with fetid coelomic fluid!

They look pretty red to me, which means yes. But by all means, try one or two on your animals.

hi guys, i just got the worm today!

and yes its the red wigglers =(. smells bad when cut and those yellow go0o. dang.

but luckily my newt loves it. i did not chop it though. it took 3 long juicy ones whole! :lol:
