My Axolotl has been resisting eating his European Nightcrawlers. When I first started giving them to him the pieces were too big and he would chew chew chew and spit it out. Since than I cut them up into really small pieces. He will snap suck them in and then instantly spit them out. I’ve tried soaking them in bloodwork juice and he still does the same thing. Does anyone have any ideas or tricks? Also these are European Nightcrawlers NOT Red Wigglers. I know Red Wigglers can be bitter.

I’ve had the same issue and tried blanching them just like a red wiggler. Axi has ate the last 2 with no problem.

Put a cup of water in the microwave for a minute, toss in the worm (dies pretty much instantly) immediately put the worm into some cold water and then chop it up. Hopefully that helps.

i've had this problem too, i really just supplemented her diet with bloodworms and pellets until she was willing to eat properly again
