My uncle suggested that I feed my axolotls live fish. I heard that this can be dangerous as some species of fish may be harmful to axies.
What types of fish are safe for axolotls to eat?
What is the best way to feed them?
Is there anything else I should know?

Minnows, guppies, cherry shrimp, ghost shrimp, tetras, on and on. Basically any non-aggressive, small, cheap fish that can live in cold temps. I've kept all of the above as well as Mollies, Platies, and Amano Shrimp with axolotls. Never once had any nipping or aggression issues with any of the above. Amano shrimp can get pretty big and are actually one of the only suitable tank mates for an axolotl, as if the shrimp get big enough the axolotls won't try to eat them and the shrimp never mess with an axolotl. Bamboo shrimp should work good too but I never tried them because they're much more expensive. I think that keeping live food with axolotls is good for them, gives them something to do. Just remember to quarantine fish, a lot of people say shrimp don't need to be quarantined but if you're paranoid you can do that as well. A lot of people have separate tanks that they use to breed minnows and shrimp so they have a constant supply of axolotl friendfood.
