Hey all, hope you're all doing good.
This may seem strange to some but I take my lotls out of their tanks to feed. Its gotten to the stage now that if I put the net or my hand in the water, they'll swim into it. While they're eating I take the opportunity to clean and vacuum the tank and replace some of the water.

Is that ok or shouldn't I do that?

eagerly awaiting you input

Thanks

Sure, as long as you don't handle them unnecessary. It's a pretty cool trick, you've taught them there. Take the water to the feeding tank directly from your main tank each time, to ensure the same temperature.

You should probably wash your hands before handling them. Newts have quite fragile skin, and I suspect the "tadpole" skin on the axolots to be even more so.

Cheers fafler,
I normally use the net but if I have to handle them I scrub the hell out of my hands and leave them under the water to cool them down in case the warmth damages their fragile skin. And yep I do use their tank water in the feeding tanks... Cool

Thanx fafler
