If you just want to keep them alive for feeding, just leave them in the packaging you bought them in at room temperature *not* in the fridge.

i do this and still have a huge die off. I think i am just going to keep them in a small plastic container with some wood shavings and oatmeal (pure, unflavored) for food.

I keep my waxworms in the fridge and they usually do fine and are fed before they die.
