For a newt's semi-aquatic terrarium, what kind of gentle filter should be used, if at all. Would it work to just clean out the water by hand every week or so?

here is a list with a description of the filters.

The duetto works pretty well for me with my semi-aquatic terraium. As for cleaning out by hand, it really depends on the species and the the size of your aquarium. For some thing like a tiger salamander that can be okay. But for somethihng like chinese fire belly it can be disasterous.
