Can my newts eat those? Should they be eating those?

they could be parasitic so probably be careful with them. I mean I wouldn't feed it to them

Seen some in my tank every now and then but my newts seemed to be unaffected. 6 months later none of them have passed at all, I think they may have eaten them and survived.

I saw in their natural habitats they eat these insects/critters.

Most leeches only feed on small animals, not newts, but I don't know what species you're talking about.
Planaria (several species too) are rarely eaten because many of them contains toxins. Some of them can eat amphibian eggs

Unfortunately I don't know what species of Planaria it may be, just very small and usually found in aquarium tanks.

Adult Fire-Bellied Adults enjoys brine shrimp, bloodworms, and black worms on a regular basis not sure about planaria though

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
