Hi everyone, I have looked at many threads on here and caresheets that seem to provide contrasting information on food size regarding new born Salamandra larvae. I was wondering what worms are appropriate for new borns as I would like to get a culture going along side Daphnia, in the case of a female distributing young before daphnia arrive via post.
Thanks in advance

It depends on the size of the larvae. A newly hatched 2.5cm larva should be able to eat whiteworm, tubifex, bloodworm etc. Whiteworm are the only one of those choices easy to culture but bloodworm can be purchased live or frozen from most aquatic shops. Frozen bloodworm won't be taken at first without some "wiggling" encouragement. Larger larvae may be able to tackle very small chopped up earthworms.
